It’s been one year and 11,508 miles since I brought the 6 home.

I still love the car, but I doubt I’ll ever buy a new car again. It’s too stressful each time it gets a ding or a scratch!

What are the details on your 6? Manual Touring or Sport? I really love the look of the KODO styling on the elongated body of the 6. If I were to need a family car the 6 is it.

It’s a Touring, but not a manual. My commute is nothing but stop-and-go traffic rarely exceeding 40 MPH. A manual would get old fast.

We bought it because we were planning to have a kid. My son will be here in February and his car seat fits well in the 6. :)

I spent part of this week in beltway traffic around DC. I was glad the rental was an automatic for sure.

Honestly, the six speed unit in this car is a really nice transmission. And the manual mode lets you hold gears as long as you want. It doesn’t upshift on its own, even if you hit the rev limiter.

“even if you hit the rev limiter”

ASK ME HOW I KNOW

As the Fusion sits on a battery charger because it didn’t start again, I’m really wishing we had one of these instead even more.

Yep, I think my parents have about 60k on their ‘13 mazda 6, and we’re on our second CX-5, and all have been great! The fact that we’re on our second CX-5 is because we’re dumb, not because anything was wrong with the car.

I really do love mine. It has some road noise (its main complaint in reviews), but I just drove a 2011 Lincoln MKX 11 hours (and it has new tires) and it had even more. The only issue I had with my 6 was the driver’s seat upholstery, which was just a fluke. It was fixed under warranty and I never had any other issues.

The build quality is excellent. This thing is solid. Feels more expensive than it is.

Nice! My wife has a ‘13 CX-5 that we still love.

Yea, we had a ‘13 GT FWD and the fuel economy wasn’t great for as much as we were driving, so we traded it in for a Prius. Fast forward 13 months later and we’re back in a ‘16 GT AWD. lol

Ours doesn’t get good mileage, either, but that’s because of my wife’s commute. It averages 27 MPG or so, and that’s with her six mile commute in stop and go traffic rarely passing 40 MPH. We did take it on a trip to see my uncle in winter 2013 and it got 37 MPG, though.

No, but the shifter is in the correct position (move it back for upshift and forward for downshift).
